Global Knowledge Named Finalist in 2008 SC
Magazine US Awards for Best Professional Training
Program
Cary, N.C. – January 23, 2008 – Global
Knowledge, the worldwide leader in IT and business training, has
been named a finalist in the SC Magazine US Awards program
for outstanding achievement in information-technology (IT)
security. The company’s Best Professional Training
Program was recognized in the Professional Award category.
This is the third year in a row that Global Knowledge has been
recognized in the SC Magazine Awards program.
"Our real-world approach to training, peer
interaction, and team-based problem solving all support rapid
security skills development and certification,” said Mike Walsh,
Product Director, Advanced Networking Technologies at Global
Knowledge. “In addition to our proprietary security courses, our
curriculum includes vendor-specific courses from Computer
Associates, Check Point, Cisco, EC-Council, Foundstone, Mandiant,
Microsoft, and Red Hat.“
IT-security vendor companies nominate entries
for consideration in the SC Magazine Awards program, which
are judged by a panel of 18 chief information security officers at
major corporations and large public sector organizations.
“This year’s SC Magazine Awards
finalists, including Global Knowledge, represent the best of the
security industry,” said SC Magazine Editor-in-Chief
Illena Armstrong. “Our judges recognize that these companies
provide businesses with the best tools in the industry to fight the
battle for a more secure enterprise.”
The annual SC Magazine Awards have
recognized security’s key contributors and outstanding products for
more than a decade. As the industry’s preeminent award program,
individuals, brands, and products short-listed address not only the
challenges prominent today, but also the emerging threat landscape
of tomorrow. The winners will be announced at an exclusive awards
event to be held in San Francisco on April 8, 2008.
