Kursbeschreibung This course extends the basic PIPE education offered by course IBM Tivoli NetView for z/OS V5R3 Workshop : NetView PIPEs (TZ23) to cover advanced use of NetView PIPEs. The course has focus on those stages that have more than one input and / or output and explains the usage of the all the input and outputs.

- Explain what a complex pipe is and how it differs from a simple pipe
- Explain the functions of the secondary inputs and - outputs of those pipe stages that have multiple inputs and / or output streams
- Build complex pipes containing multiple data streams
- Explain the usage of the different orders in the EDIT stage
- Build to use the EDIT stage to build commands dynamically based on messages in the pipeline
- Use the EDIT stage to select the desired information from a multiline message
- Use the QSAM stage to one or more read data sets into the pipeline or write the contents of the pipeline to a file on same or different NetView domain
- Compare two input streams using the LOOKUP stage like for instance issue the same command twice and compare the output for messages present in both responses, message only present in first response and messages only present in second response
